1 Ljundberg is healthier playing on turf. Who would have thought ? (me)
2 I wanted Schmetzer ( ex-Sounder player and longtime Sounder coach ) to get the job, but Sigi rocks…they better be paying Schmetzer some dough though
3 I hope Holden stays at Houston, they have already lost Clark, that was a great rivalry for one year. 5 games last year, all of them insanely competitive.
4 Kartik one last thing before you leave. Sigi can not even walk the streets with out being seen. I love Kinnear ( ex-Sounder ), but I doubt that is true in Houston.

As a football franchise I think the Sounders are close to being on par with America and Chivas de Guadalajara. I’m not talking about history and success on the field, but rather, the overall presentation of the team/franchise and brand. The Sounders brand is highly recognizable and the market penetration is sizable. I remember reading somewhere that Sounders lead the league in merchandise sales, in the FIRST YEAR even! Sigi has been a part of this success and 2010 looks to be even bigger.

yeah, but merchandise is going to be your biggest in your first year, right ?

I coach basketball and on my basketball team, 30% of the kids were wearing Sounders gear the other day, no Mariners or Seahawks.

They also lead the league in website hits, which will only go up.

I don’t want Seattle to be number one in any of those things. I hope everyone jumps on board across the US, MLS will pass most EPL teams, LaLiga teams very quickly if they all responded like Seattle.
