DC United and Kansas City have the best chance to get them?

Who the hell came up with that?

DC used their lottery spot on Perkins, and Kansas City used theirs on Gil (and were richly rewarded when he went to RSL)

    WTF is going on here?

There wasn’t a lottery for Perkins. They traded the #7 pick plus Fred (and maybe something more) to swap allocation spots (since Perkins was considering a returning Nat) with Philly.

Gotcha on DC. Still doesn’t explain Kansas City.

As a DC United fan, I’ll take any help we can get. Although the Post is reporting he would then be traded to a Western Conference team, which make me wonder what DC United would get in return.

Why a weighted lottery? Why he can’t just sign with whomever he wants?

I still don’t get why he’s in a weighted lottery… He’s not Gen Adidas. Was he offered a contract with MLS before going to Hannover? I though the lottery was for young players. He’s 23.

I’d like to see him come back to the MLS. It’s a shame about his heart problems that really prevented him from taking the next step in Europe. A good place to restart his career(though I thought the same about Szetela).

Unfortunately D.C. have no presence in the box, and I think the general wing play has been one of their strongest spots. Quaranta and Najar are certainly quality enough on the right that Zizzo isn’t a priority out there.

I remember playing against Sal in the PDL. His speed with and without the ball caused major problems for many teams in the league. If he is healthy he will be a great addition to any MLS team, especially on the wings where he will be able to break down MLS players easily.

I went to high school with him and tried to fallow his career in Germany to little avail but now he’s come back home and to the closest team(geographically) to me and i love it. He’s got great pace and is good on the ball, i hope im not jinxing him but Sal for national team!!!

“Why a weighted lottery? Why he can’t just sign with whomever he wants?”

Because MLS “fixes” competitive balance “problems.”

I hate MLS. If it’s successful single-entity will never die, and the absurd system will continue, which retards the growth of US Soccer. If it dies, then how long until we see outdoor soccer in America again?
