Kartik, agreed that the Fire fan base should be larger. While I’ll agree that Gary is in the Chicago market, once you cross the state line to the north it’s all Packerland. Racine, has a great harbor and wonderful zoo right on Lake Michigan, nice newly remodeled downtown but not the Chicago market.

Your Football Partnership interview was top notch as always, which is why your an in-demand interview.

eplnfl, you make a good point. For sports fans in Wisconsin it is hard to feel anything positive for a sports team in Chicago. I also think that it hurts that the standium is on the southwest side of the city. If the Fire had built a stadium on more on the north side they could better tap into the Wisconsin market. O’haire is a little over 2 hours from Madison (metro of 500,000) and a little over an hour from the Milwaukee area (metro of abou 2 million and once proposed site for a team).

Granted that the stadium location has no been shown to be short sited. From my house in the north suburban area it takes an hour to get there. You really only want to make that drive on the weekends.

I do not want to start a battle on this touchy subject but Milwaukee deserves it’s own team.

Hope to see you at a Fire game soon.
