The Chicago Fire have made an excellent coaching hire to replace the fired Dave Sarachan. Columbian Juan Carlos Osorio, whom I am personally very familiar with from his four plus years as an assistant at Manchester City under Kevin Keagan and Stuart Pearce will take over the Fire next week according to Soccernet.com. Osorio actually seemed to be making most of the team related decisions for City in Pearce’s first season (a partial season) as manager, but then left for a head coaching position at a top club in his native country. It is no coincidence, City has been a mess since.

Juan Carlos Osorio certainly helped Man City (who I support) with their fitness levels. Before he came we played 75 minutes of a 90 minute game. Our problem was tactics and I don’t think Juan had any control over that. I wish him well and thank him for his years at Man City.
