I can only hope there is a parallel between AEG and the New England Patriots. When the Jackson Victory tour failed in the mid-80s, it destroyed the finances of the Sullivan family, who owned the Pats, and eventually led to the team being bought by Bob Kraft and catapulting to success. Maybe, things will work out similarly for the Galaxy et al.

Interesting idea here. To me MLB is a too old and too slow for our times. It’s time has past. A new generation of American’s want more from it’s sports then roid driven home run hitters and a game that takes a break every 3 outs.

What the American soccer team has done may have finally tipped the scales and American’s will stand up and hopefully pack some stadiums for soccer. AEG despite it’s faults kept the dream alive for many a years. So let’s not be harsh on them. Maybe they will have hard times ahead, but thanks to them and the USMNT this last week soccer has an American home and just isn’t visiting anymore.

Yeah the AEG angle is compelling. BTW, Lou you may be curious to know Phil Anschutz bought a suburban VA paper a few years back and now has turned it into a right wing shiny sheet. So we know he plays politics, and thus maybe can get bailed out by political friends saving the Galaxy and SUM!
