What impresses me most about Montero is his physical style of play. He wins most of his 50/50 challenges, he rarely loses the ball, and controls the game. He can play in any league in the world, I'll be surprised if Freddy stays more than a year.

Montero came into the league with a big reputation and is living up to it. I agree with the article 100%, and do not believe he will be here next season.

I'm a season tix holder for the Sounders, and was at the hilarious Seahawks game versus the Redskins, right after their accusation of Qwest Field "pumping extra noise in" was disproven. I think that game settled in their minds that it's not noise pumping, they're just used to non-Seattle fans (who generally have little girly lungs. Har!)

That being said, Sounders matches are a whole new level of intensity, bloodthirstiness, stamina and discipline from us Seattleites. I too hope our away games don't falter, but there's no question Sounders have a crazy home field advantage.

Precisely why I'm not against expansion. I think it should be stopped at 20 for a period of time to allow MLS to re-evaluate the league and the stability of smaller market teams. Quality has not gone down.

You're right about the irony. But Montero wouldn't be the first talented player to have trouble breaking into a South American national side.

A guy who cannot even get a call up for Colombia's most critical qualifiers is the poster child of our league. OY VEY. I'm not disputing this, just mentioning the irony.
