Did that dude say he could recruit a team of kids out of the poor neighborhoods of Houston that could “beat any team in the world?” Wha? Huh?
No you couldn’t. Not a chance. Even if he meant beat any other youth team in the world, no, sorry, you couldn’t. I don’t disagree with the general idea that at some point a cultural change where athletes of all races and classes aspire to become soccer players like they aspire to the NBA and NFL would be nice. But that’s not what he said. He said he could “beat any team in the world” with a team recruited from the ‘hood in Houston. If that’s true, the Dynamo are pretty stupid. For that matter, so are Real Madrid, Chelsea, and all of the other biggest, richest, smartest clubs in the world.
Wow–Completely agree–Had to pick my jaw up off the floor when he said that–Hard to take these guys seriously as “experts” when they make comments like that–If there was so much talent in the apartments in Houston that he could in “one week” put together a U.S. team that would “beat any other team in the world” then teams like Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter, Ac Milan, Barca, etc would be there picking it clean
