KC Wizards fire Gansler

Bob Gansler who coached the USA in the 1990 World Cup and also led the Kansas City Wizards to the 2000 MLS Cup title just a season after being the league’s second worst team has been fired and replaced by former player Brian Bliss. Gansler is one the best American coaches having qualified the US for the 1990 World Cup against long odds with a bunch of young college age players, and has done a remarkable job coaching in the A-league and MLS. Gansler cannot be blamed for the fact that KC’s best players Eddie Johnson, Josh Wolff and Jimmy Conrad missed almost two months due to the World Cup but nonetheless mangment has held him responsible and he is now looking for work.

Brian Bliss is a former USA player and an up-and-coming coach like Dom Kinnear. I wish him luck.
