the interview was excellent. I agree in context with what Jamie said about the US MNT. I think the problem with US Mens soccer is that there is no “face” That is why I think Beckham has done so well, it gives legitimate name to the game even though he is not American. Look at the US WNT. They have always had a face that even outsiders can relate to. Think Mia Hamm or the current Abby Wambach. The US specifically the MLS needs an American star who is marketable, an excellent player and easily related too.
His comments about raising the salary cap are important. If American born players can make more money in Europe, they will “follow the money”
