MLS is awash with cash due to Superliga and the FMF deal but the squad limit of 18 and salary cap being so low has made MLS completely uncompetitive in these sort of events. I think MLS is probably worse on the eye from a pure play standpoint than early on in its existence although the conformity with FIFA rules now and the uniforms looking more football like has helped, but the quality itself isn't good.
