Dan I've read a few of your other posts on Clint Dempsey and I'm glad you apologized in this article. Nobody looks at how hard Clint's had to work to be in the 11 at Fulham. For a while there it seemed like no matter how many goals he netted he was still on the pine at kickoff. He's been tired, not one American on Bradleys 11 has had to put as much effort into the last 8 or 9 months as him. You'll have to excuse him for flying across the pond from a grueling season and showing some obvious jet lag. He's been the leading scorer for Fulham the last two seasons, and yet that's still not good enough for the club. I don't think he'll make it to opening day with Fulham this year. He has just one season left on contract and I don't believe he has any intention of signing another with the team, he has already turned down a few offers from Fulham. If Fulham has any brains in their offices, they'll sell him this summer while they can still pocket money from his transfer. Throughout all of what's happened to him while in the EPL, he's never shown his anger, disappointment, or a lack of class in anyway. He's a true American Football icon and a staple for years to come with the MNT.

If you truly want to look at someone who is constantly under preforming, look at Bocanegra. If you think I'm wrong search Youtube and re-watch the goals scored against the US. Make sure you note where Carlos was during each one. I'm betting that the majority of the time he wasn't able/lacked the skill to/was afraid to make the play needed at the time. That is just not acceptable for me, especially from someone wearing the captains band.
