It’s always great to see success in soccer games here in the United States. The MLS will without a doubt become one of the worlds leading leagues. A few soccer stars here and there, and plenty of money will kick start our national league.

Hope so. You would think a few big names in their prime or close can begin to appear on MLS teams. Each year the soccer nation grows bigger. Kids raised on soccer in the US want to see the game played as an adult. One factor helping Fire attendance is that on a Saturday night young couples decide to make a date of the soccer game, or groups of young men and women who played as little kids head out to the pitch instead of the baseball field for a game.

Good stuff. What a great time to be a sports fan in Chicago.

I honestly think that if teams like the Fire keep doing things like this, and fielding a competitive side, there’s no reason that MLS can’t peacefully coexist with the big 4.

Actually, I’d really like to see more cross promotion with the other leagues. Imagine how well an away kit in Cubbie blue would sell. And I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. We GOTTA get a fog horn like the Hawks.

May be it’s be but I find a good # of Hawks fans are also Fire hex. I think we need to stay away with links to the Cubs. I want to win sometime in a hundred years.

Yes, it’s time for MLS to move up the ladder in quality. The problem is getting the depth throughout the team like a AC Milan. That will take a long while.

Absolutely. This is insightful of you. Kids who grow up playing a sport, enjoy watching it more. This is a primary reason why hockey kind of takes a back seat. It’s expensive and difficult to grow up playing hockey. All the equipment, and if youre not from way north, you need a rink. Basketball, and football on the other hand all it takes is a ball and a park. Soccer is the same way, a ball and some space and you’ve got the beautiful game. And like oyu said, little boys and girls grow up on soccer now. Protective parents would rather have their kids in soccer than football, and for the girls, little league soccer is probably the most common sport for them to find a team.
