Fully agree with you on the player awards. What Oguchi Onyewu was doing at the Gold Cup I have no idea and I do not think he did either. Sleep walking would be too mild a description of what he was up to. I was glad to see better performances from him later in the year and I think his club play has been good. He is a great plus for the US Men if he can play up to his potential.

I think a` special mention should go to Michael Bradley. Despite one major bone head play that kept him out of the Gold Cup final he was a major find for the US in the mid field and displayed to me a mature beyond his age. Looking forward for him to dominate the mid-field by WC time.

As to the Men's team performance in the Gold Cup, the team displayed a certain maturity that you see in veteran teams that gets teams in trouble. They play well enough only to win. The Canada game was the prime example, they dominated Canada early and then put things on auto and almost lost the game. Against Mexico with key players out of action they were`excellent and inspired. So, maybe the US plays as well as it wants too.

Brazil still need not worry.
