Becks Still Golden

August 16th, 2007 By Kartik Krishnaiyer --> 3 Comments

It has been a nightmare season for the Los Angeles Galaxy but thanks to some help from a certain former English National Team captain, the Galaxy have reached the finals of Superliga where they will face Pachuca. David Beckham’s first half free kick and second half thru ball to Landon Donovan accounted for the two goals in LA’s 2-0 win over DC United. For United, countless opportunities were wasted and in the past six matches (two MLS, four Superliga) it seems like DC needs five or six clean looks in front of goal before scoring. Despite dominating the play against almost every opponent they face, United continues to lack the sort of clinical finishing you would expect from a side with such quality all over the pitch. Now Tom Soehn’s team must regroup for the MLS Playoffs, and Copa Sudamericana.

    LA always seems to squeak into the finals of events they play in. They’ve done it again.

    He is really full of surprises, but that’s what great players do… no matter what happens they always come back for more.

    Yes, Bonji, LA’S Recond in CONCACAF and US Open cups is very good. Here’s hoping they beat Pachuca for MLS’ sake!
