He knew for a while talks were under way and he did not want to get himself hurt. This is a common problem for many MLS players, play hard enough to get the big European teams interested then watch yourself to not get hurt before you sign. Maybe we should strike a name for the problem, like the European Calling effect. I disagree on Jon Spector, injuries has been his downfall and Beasley has done well despite his medical issues.
