Todd said: I was at the game, on the northern side near that goal and was quite close. He was jumping over montero to get to his goal post.

Todd, if your just saying all this or defending Wicks because you hate Freddy Montero, then just say so. Because no matter how much you are defending Wicks, you didn't have 3 different camera angles showing the intent by Wicks of stomping on Montero & he was no where near that far post.

If you think Freddy is a diver fine, if you hate the Sounders fans fine. But stop this nonsense that Wicks was going to his goal post as he accidentally got Montero. That was no accident. Wicks intentionally stomped on Montero. I have the tape & I can watch it over & over & over again. You were too far away to see what happened.

Your a good supporter of the US Open Cup Todd, but stop acting like a blind fool and admit you are wrong defending Wicks.

Charles says:
"BTW, Sounders and Timbers is a made up rivalry compared to the Whitecaps. I still hate 80s Whitecaps players."

C'mon Charles. Let it go. I seem to recall at least one Whitecaps player in one match making a tackle that wasn't studs-up. And just imagine how much fun it's gonna be to have Lenarduzzi back in Seattle, losing another match! Badly as usual.

And laugh and point at the BC license plates after the usual 4-1.

MLS playoffs could be exciting with all the big brands that will be involved. Galaxy, Seattle, Chicago, Houston. Just think if the West first round is Galaxy/Chivas, Seattle/Houston. We are talking 4 games in two weeks all with 30,000+ attendance.

MLS wet dream would be:

Houston/Seattle
Galaxy/Chivas
Chicago/Rapids
Toronto/Columbus

Chicago/Toronto

I was sitting on the side the camera didn't show. I know what I saw.

and I am keeping it classy. If it was any major sport in the US Montero's domestic abuse scandal would have kept him from playing the rest of the season.

My guess, is this isn' t the first time that Wicks has had trouble is it ?

You want annoying Sounders fans !?!
Sounders have another 5,000 ticket reservations for next year and they have NOT asked the season ticket holders if they want more for next year. My guess is they will open up more seats ( the Hawks Nest hold 3k ),as even if they have a renewal rate of only 90%, they will still have sold out the 32.5k lower bowl at Qwest. The playoff demand ( providing they hang on ) is going to be interesting.
Lets all pray for the Sounders making the MLS Cup, so we can see for the third time what a real sell out ( 70k ) looks like.

BTW, Sounders and Timbers is a made up rivalry compared to the Whitecaps.

have ya'll not watched any soccer? ever? most goalies I see get scored on go directly to the goal posts and kick their cleats/beat their hands/adjustit/grabtheirwaterbottle. Thats all wicks was doing.

I was at the game, on the northern side near that goal and was quite close. He was jumping over montero to get to his goal post.

I'm glad montero is out of here after this season, he is a wife-beating shithead who dives more than blanco, he is not needed in this league.

There is no reason for a keeper to ever walk right by a player who just scored a goal and is on the ground. There's 8 yards of space between the posts. He deserved a red card for abject stupidity if nothing else.

That said I think Daniel is right--that alone should give you a flavor of what the Seattle-Portland rivalry will be (or rather already is) like, along with the infamous "timber" goal celebration from the cup tie.

Much respect to DC United--it was especially sweet to win the the first trophy against a side with so many of them already. I honestly didn't think we had much chance playing on the road at RFK.

It's nice that Seattle fans are so excited because while it lasts it brings money to the league, but god they are annoying.
