Inverting the Pyramid is outstanding, can't recommend it enough. Excellent analysis of tactical innovation in soccer, combined with analysis of the local roots of different playing styles. His ongoing columns in the Guardian are like extra chapters (his analysis of how the Brazilian 4-2-3-1 is different than the European version was enlightening to read right before the ConfedCup final).

If you've ever watched FSC and transitioned from an Italian game to an English one, and wondered why English players can't trap/pass/control the ball/etc, Vialli's The Italian Job is a winner..
